Rumors continue to surface about changes planned for Control Center on iOS 18, which Apple is set to unveil during its WWDC keynote on Monday.
The latest word comes from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who today confirmed our report from earlier this week that said users will be able to rearrange controls directly within Control Center. Gurman also revealed a new detail: the more customizable Control Center will allow for controls to be spread across multiple pages for the first time.
Gurman also reiterated that the revamped Control Center will include a new music widget. We have learned that the widget will likely span the full width of Control Center, and include more visual elements like album art in its default view.
As previously reported, more customization is also expected for the Home Screen on iOS 18. Two notable changes have been rumored, including the ability to place icons anywhere on the Home Screen, and the option to change the color of app icons so that they all match. For example, Gurman said all finance-related app icons could be set to green. Hopefully black is also an option, which could allow for a Dark Mode of sorts on the Home Screen.
The first beta of iOS 18 should be available immediately after the WWDC keynote, and the update will likely be widely released in September.

"pages" are stupid. just give me infinite scrolling. also Home Screen should just get rid of pages. useless. you don't know what is on page 6, guaranteed. at least with infinite scrolling, I know an app's approximate location and can get to it faster than pages. and it's much faster skimming through infinite scrolling than scanning each page where your eye lands on the bottom right, only for you to do a full swipe then your eyes have to go back to the top left.
infinite scrolling is better. just facts.

Multiple pages Control Center
A hybrid of iOS 10 and iOS 11 Control Center
Control Center in iOS 17 is nearly identical to the iOS 11 version except for the new available additional toggles...

But they threw iOS 10's Control Center out because it had multiple pages and to put all controls on one page in the first place.

Don't worry, soon you won't even have to scroll. Apple Intelligence (AI) will think for you. It will instinctively know what you want to do before you do.

The tech world has been changing so rapidly lately. What's ironic, it's been Apple's stellar computers that have helped move it forward faster, beyond a point where they, themselves, can keep pace.

And this is a bad thing? lol. That list of why Android is better than iOS shrinks by the year.

Yea, sure, but luckily the earlier rumor today suggested that it will optional to turn that crap on, so…

Still doesn't change the fact that it's a big update for iOS and a necessary one, I'd say.

And here I thought that we will be able to write our own iOS version with all that new AI in ios18 and Apple will discontinue iOS development all together

Jokes aside, he probably wouldn’t.
What’s the difference between that and going into settings app then? Wasn’t control center supposed to be fast to interact?

I meant the iOS 18 update as a whole but your point still does stand. Just my opinion

CC serves one purpose, fast access to common tasks. swiping pages for finding quick functions, sure. that would lead to make the idea simply absurd. you can already swipe down, left, up, right on lockscreen. you have shortcuts. so what’s the purpose of swiping down and then swipe more? its the same as unlock or switch apps and scroll and swipe in settings or apps. this maybe true but would be the most nonsense feature since years. UI has to get simpler yet again. there is so much no average user knows already. too much hidden swipes and press holds. most users touch and scroll. Because they see and read. you have to guess too much already. rant over : )
