Taylor Bisciotti

Taylor Bisciotti (born October 5, 1991) ^[16] ^[17] is a sports anchor and reporter for the NFL Network based out of Los Angeles, California. ^[1] ^[2] ^[9]

Taylor Bisciotti was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the only girl on her father's side of the family with an older brother, Kyle, and three older male cousins, Jason, Jack and Michael. Bisciotti grew up watching football and going to games with her family. Football was the language of the family and how she related to all the boys. Her uncle, Steve Bisciotti is the majority owner of the Baltimore Ravens. Bisciotti cites her uncle as someone who has been very supportive of her career, "I’ll never forget how nervous I was when I was covering the SEC Women's Soccer Tournament for SEC Network. He called me every day and gave me great advice. When you first start off, you are vulnerable, insecure and self-conscious, and to have someone call and say all the right things at the right time is something I’ll never forget." ^[2] ^[9]

Taylor Bisciotti is very family oriented and considers her grandmother, Patricia Bisciotti, her greatest role model. "She lost her husband to leukemia at age 35, and she raised my dad, uncle and aunt on her own. No matter what, she handles situations with class, strength and dignity. Don’t let her small size fool you; her strength and mind are remarkable. If I ever need advice or someone to vent to, I know that she is always there. My mom is also my rock." ^[2]

Personal Life

Taylor Bisciotti enjoys visiting her family in Atlanta and going out to eat with them. Jalisco and Houston's are two childhood favorites. She also enjoys the Sugar Shack bakery's chocolate Italian cake and cupcakes. Her personal favorite restaurants are Henri’s Bakery, Taqueria del Sol and Fritti in Inman Park. ^[2]

Health Issues

Having experienced an excruciating pain in her left eye in October 2017, she visited an eye doctor who referred her to a corneal specialist.

Soon Bisciotti learned that her previous diagnosis, chronic pink eye, was wrong.

She had an ulcer, an open sore, on the cornea of her left eye.^[24]

Bisciotti's eye problems first started in college when she suffered from what she was told was pink eye.

Every few months she’d experience the same thing: her eye would become bloodshot, irritated, swollen and sometimes have pus oozing from it.

From being misdiagnosed for so long, Bisciotti had numerous scars on her cornea.

She said her doctor even worried that if they did not contain the ulcer she would develop a scar that could completely cover her cornea and Bisciotti could lose her vision entirely in her left eye.^[24]

They can’t be sure how the ulcer first started, but Bisciotti admits she wasn’t always smart about her contact lenses."There would be random nights where I would sleep with my contacts in or not clean them out as well as I should have," she said.^[24]

Currently, she wears contact only in her right eye.

She can still see with her left eye, but her vision is blurry.^[24]

Education

Taylor Bisciotti graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia as a double major in Business Marketing and Broadcast Journalism. ^[1] ^[9]

In an interview with Red and Black.vom,Bisciotti told she didn’t start out as a journalism major at university, she switched during her senior year:

I entered school my freshman year trying to do a double [major] in journalism and business … I decided to drop journalism and just pursue business because I felt that was a safe route — it’s definitely the safer, more straight-and-narrow route.
With journalism, you don’t have a set-in-stone, direct path that you’re supposed to take, which is definitely scary and daunting.

It was in my final semester and I'm thinking, “I can’t be doing this for the next 10 years.”
I just couldn't do it.
I literally just couldn’t see myself doing it.
So I applied for like a million internships and I got a hard news internship at a CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C. and I think my parents were like, “Oh this is great.

Of course, doing news, I absolutely loved it … It was the last day of my internship and I [didn’t] want to leave.
There was a digital reporter position opening and they had offered it to me and I wanted to stay and continue doing it, but my parents were like, “If you want to go this journalism route, you need to go back to school,” which thank God I did because obviously there is no experience like Grady.
I couldn’t imagine a better journalism school and it was such a real-life experience doing Newsource and all that.^[40]

Taylor Bisciotti is an sports anchor and reporter for NFL Network appearing on several NFL Media platforms and programs. She was the youngest person ever hired by the NFL Network to work as on-air talent. ^[2] ^[9] ^[1]

Before joining NFL Network, Bisciotti was a host for Sporting News after serving as a sideline reporter for the SEC Network and ESPN. Bisciotti began her career as an intern with WUSA 9 in Washington, D.C. where she discovered her passion for sports journalism. ^[2] ^[9]

As of February 2020, Bisciotti has over 57,000 followers on her taylorbisciotti Instagram account. She often posts her work photos, as well as travel photos and photos with friends.
